I was in the Bethesda area last week and decided to revisit Mustard Seed – a resale store that sells both used and new clothing, shoes, and accessories.
After having not been here in a couple years, the only excuse for not coming more often is that it’s a little out of the way since it’s in Bethesda. However, I am glad I made my way here as I scored some great pieces! Check them out below.
- Banana Republic LBD with Waist Detailing: $16
I love this dress! It fits me sooo nicely, which is sometimes hard to find for an A-line dress that doesn’t fit around my bottom too tight and this was just right! I also love the detailing at the waist. It adds a little something to the dress without restricting me from being creative with how I decide to style it.
2. Green and Black Polka Dot Dress: $10
I love this dress! It looks a lot shorter on the hanger than it actually is. I’m 5’7″ and it hits me close to the knee. I absolutely LOVE skater dresses and I love finding them in work appropriate lengths and styles. I will most likely pair this with black tights and a blazer or cardigan in the colder months and a black cardigan and pumps in the warmer months.
3. The Loft LBD with 1/2 Sleeve and POCKETS!: $16
I love this dress! It’s super sophisticated and it has pockets! I plan to do a lot with this dress as far as nice studs and statement necklaces. I’ll also play with some bright blazers and cardigans as well. I’m excited about this one 🙂
4. Navy Maxi Dress with Pleats: $10
This is probably my least favorite item that I bought, but I felt it would be beneficial to have in my wardrobe. It’s a lot more conservative than I’d like, BUT what can I say? I’m a lawyer. I love navy and I like that the dress is pretty long. I will definitely try to play with color with this. I also like the pleats. I will give it an honest try!
5. Navy Talbots Slacks: $14
I typically like to wear dresses mostly, but I am trying to be open to wearing pants to work as well. I really liked these slacks! They are great quality and I love navy. I almost passed these babies up when I saw the size 2 as I am normally a size 6, but decided to try them on anyway. I’m glad I did! They are a tad short, but I decided to practice my sewing skills and took out the hem a good inch and a half. (Be on the lookout for my posts on my sewing journey coming soon!)
6. Vintage Paisley Jacket: $20
Omg I am so excited about this jacket! I love the paisley pattern with the black background. I also adore the cherub buttons and the textured fabric. This jacket is appropriate for work and makes an easy transition to happy hour. I plan to wear this with black skirts, slacks, and dresses. This is definitely my favorite find!
I enjoyed my time at Mustard Seed. I planned to stop by Current Boutique which is a few minutes down the road, but I had done enough damage (which was only $91!) at Mustard Seed. I will try Current the next time I’m in the area, but I am sure I’ll be tempted to stop by Mustard Seed again!
