Hey loves! So I stopped by Zengo – an Asian/Latin Fusion restaurant – to try out their happy hour. This wasn’t my first time going to happy hour at Zengo, but it had been a minute since I stopped by because I’ve never really liked their food options. Unfortunately, not much has changed. Luckily, the drinks are still really good! I’d say this is a great place to grab drinks before a game at the Verizon Center or just a cool pregame spot period. Check out details on my experience at Zengo’s happy hour below:
Happy Hour Menu
As I said, the best thing about Zengo’s happy hour is the drink menu. I ordered the Caipirinha, which is basically the Brazilian version of a mojito. Sooo yummy!!
I also ordered the Spicy Tuna Wonton Nachos, which sounded and looked better than they actually tasted. Unfortunately, the wontons were super oily and there wasn’t much tuna. And for $9, I was giving this happy hour dish a major side eye.
I also ordered the Crunchy Shrimp Tacos. Even though there were 3 tacos, they were so tiny that I was still hungry after. Again, for $8, I was a little peeved. Especially since I know places where I can get 2 delicious, full size tacos for $3! And they put too much creme! See, now I’m annoyed all over again *eye roll*
Zengo’s happy hour is good, but only for drinks. Zengo is located at 781 Seventh Street NW, Washington, DC 20001. For more information, their website is here.
UPDATE: Zengo is unfortunately closed now 😦
