Winter Gear Finds: BOOTS!!!

This past weekend, I popped in a few stores to check out the deals on winter shoes. My, my, my, was I in for a treat!

Urban Outfitters Rain Booties: $14.99

First, I stopped by Tyson’s Corner and visited my favorite section of Urban Outfitters, which is the only section of the store I shop….the clearance section. And I found these babies.

These boots are made out of what I believe to be rubber, so they are stylish and will be great to wear when it’s wet outside. These are also cute enough to wear to work when you don’t want to lug around two pairs of shoes. And how much were they you might ask?

That’s right! I paid $14.99 for these rain booties! *Pats self on the back* They were originally priced at $39! Most of UO’s inventory that doesn’t sell ends up in the clearance section, which is why that’s the only area of the store that I shop. I’ve said it before and I will say it again…Always stop by the Clearance Section First!! And to further drive this rule home…

Sperry Snow Boots from Marshalls: $59

I stopped by Marshall’s after my yoga class because I needed a new pair of snow boots and there was fresh ice all over the sidewalks and I did not want to eat it while walking home.

The funny thing is, I didn’t even stop at the clearance section before I checked out the regular price items. I had narrowed my search down to 2 other pair of snow boots that were just OKAY, which is why I decided to check out the clearance before I made a final decision. It just so happened that the Sperry’s were the best looking and best quality snow boots in the store!

Although I’m not a label person, I’ve realized that labels are important when it comes to shoes. If there is one part of my wardrobe where I will have to budge a little with not wanting to spend a lot of money, it’s with shoes. Although I try to avoid spending much on my looks, quality is still key. And the quality of bargain/thrifted shoes just isn’t the same as thrifted clothing.

I jumped at the opportunity to grab these snow boots once I spotted them in the Clearance Section. I did a quick Google search and learned that Sperry’s run between about $80 – $100+. I peeled the tag off of the shoes to see how much they were originally priced at Marshall’s and they were $79.99! There was no way I could pass these babies up. I wore them right out of the store and avoided any injuries on the way home 🙂

I gotta say…this was a great shopping weekend! Happy Winter!
