Hey loves! Sorry for being absent the past week or so. Things have been a little crazy on my end. Stay tuned for a blog post on what I’ve been up to the last week!
Anywho, this past weekend, my boyfriend and I checked out Provision 14 in the U St. Corridor in DC.
I didn’t get to check out the entire restaurant, but I liked what I saw. There was cool decor that was reminiscent of the Prohibition era. The waiters wore suspenders and the bar stools were made out of some kind of barrels. A little hipster-ish, but not enough to be annoying. The setting was pretty romantic and mostly lit by candlelight.
My boyfriend ordered the Braised Calamari ($13) and I ordered the Salmon with Pumpkin Risotto ($24). Both dishes were really tasty, but cost a little bit more than I’d like to spend on a random night.
My favorite item that we ordered was the Clearly Refreshing French Press Cocktail. The french press is $44 and we each got about 3 decent servings of the cocktail. The cocktail was made with Hendricks gin, cucumber, and other tasty ingredients. We both loved it!
Around 10:30, we started to hear some music and dancing going on upstairs, but we were so tired that we didn’t participate. All in all, I really liked Provision and will definitely visit again. Maybe I’ll even check out the second floor next time and report back! The address to Provision is 2100 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20009. Check it out and let me know what you think!
