Hey loves! In observance of Black History Month, I wanted to share a little about my visit to the Fashion Institute of Technology Museum’s Black Fashion Designer Exhibit.
In an extremely competitive industry like fashion, it’s gratifying and empowering to see that black designers have always been on the cutting edge of creating beautiful pieces of work.
Not only did black designers create aesthetically gorgeous works, they also used their craft to advocate for different causes that are important to them.
I don’t want to give away the entire exhibit because it is amazing in person! The Fashion Institute of Technology is located at 227 W 27th St, New York, NY 10001. The Black Fashion Designers exhibit will be available until May 16, 2017. If you find yourself in the area, you should definitely stop by and let me know what you think!
